Addie Marshall

Addie Ray Vassey Marshall, age 92, of Doggett Road, Forest City, NC, died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Hospice House.
Addie was born on April 30, 1919 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Forest Chester Vassey and Eva Lee Owens Vassey. She was a homemaker who enjoyed all types of gardening. She loved flowers and was an excellent seamstress. Addie was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and a past member of Alexander Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 65 years, D.P. Marshall; one brother, Ralph Vassey and sister, Nellie Harrill.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Littlejohn of Gaffney, SC; one son, Steve Marshall and wife, Beverly of Atlanta, GA; one grandson, Forrest Marshall of Barnardsville, NC; two step-grandchildren, Wendi Moore Gary and husband, David of Marietta, GA and Rob Moore and wife, Collette of Lake Norman, NC; two sisters in-law, Bonnie Tessnear of Alexander and Margaret Marshall of Forest City. She is also survived by three great step-grandchildren, Lauren Moore, Taylor Moore, Ryan Moore and a number of nieces and nephews.
