Albert McFalls, age 87, of Rutherfordton, also affectionately known as “Buck” or “Buster”, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Albert was born on Friday, April 10, 1936 in Rutherford County, to the late Virgil McFalls and Elsie Coffey McFalls. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1954. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, class of 1958. Albert was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Cold War Era. He was instrumental in starting the River Oaks Community Church in Clemmons, NC and was a current member of West Point Baptist Church where he held several offices over the years and formerly served as a deacon. Albert was a salesman and manager of sales for Town and Country Ford, Clovedale Ford, and the Village Auto Mart. He had a special passion for golfing and working out at the gym.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant children, Alan McFalls and Yvonne McFalls; and a sister, Mary Ruth McFalls.
Those left to cherish his memory include his precious wife, Ruth McFalls, of the home; and two aunts, Lucille Waters and Martha Humphries, both of Sandy Mush.
A service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10th at West Point Baptist Church with Reverend Lance Scarlett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors offered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
