Alfred Harmon

Alfred "Bud" Harmon, age 92, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his residence.
He was born November 4, 1926 in Rutherford County, NC to the late George Thomas Harmon and Nanny Mason Harmon. He was a graduate of Cliffside High School, class of 1945. Bud served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a master mechanic at Cone Mill-Cliffside Plant for thirty-five years before retirement. Bud was a longtime member of Floyd's Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Flossie Cash Harmon; seven brothers and five sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Phillip Harmon of Cliffside; four grandchildren, Dylan Harmon, Matthew Harmon, Emily Harmon and Austin Hodge.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Floyd's Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Carnell officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
