Allena Buckner 'Lady' Marlowe, age 76, of Forest City, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Rutherford Hospital.
Allena was born in Flagpond, Tennessee on January 25, 1934 to the late Rassie Washington Buckner and Mary Frances Mashburn Buckner. She worked as a magazine filler for Stonecutter Mills for over twenty years before retiring. She also worked for Autumn Care Nursing Home as a dietician and enjoyed being a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Keith Buckner, Raleigh Buckner, Paul Buckner and one sister, Margaret Barnes.
Survivors include her husband, I.B. Marlowe of Gastonia; three sons, Ernest Marlowe and wife, Kaye of Rutherfordton, Alan Marlowe and wife, Kathie of Gastonia, NC and David Marlowe and wife, Crystal of Forest City; two daughters, Wanda Morrison and husband, James, and Ellen Cardwell both of Forest City; one brother, Floyd 'Shorty' Buckner and wife, Nancy of Mooresboro; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Buckner of Forest City. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Holly Owens, Chris Marlowe, Jennifer Larance, Kim Marlowe, Chuck Bell, Taylor Brown, Emily Jenkins, Julia Johnson, Tonya Cardwell and Ryan Cardwell; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
