Amanda B. Waters, age 87, of Ellenboro, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her residence.
Born January 9, 1931 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Bates Chivous Baynard and Katherine Melton Baynard. She worked for Burlington Industries and Cone Mill-Avondale Plant most of her life before retiring. Amanda attended Caroleen Missionary Methodist Church and enjoyed country music and growing plants. She was known by all of her family and friends for ability to make delicious gravy.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Linda Craft and husband, David of Ellenboro and Debra Haulk of Bostic; five grandchildren, Sandy Henson (Jason) of Cowpens, Trevis Craft (Pam) of Caroleen, Vicki Childers of Ellenboro, Davina Shade (Rob) of Ellenboro and Robby Suttle (Haley) of Forest City; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kasey, Lexi and Kenzie Gilbert; Preston Victoria, D.J., and Blake Childers; Rebecca and Sam Craft; Hayden Katlyn, Madison and Nic Suttle; three great-great-grandchildren, Lyric, Jaylee and Charlee. She also survived by a nephew, Bobby Baynard and niece, Beverly Pruett.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Sam Henderson and Reverend Joseph Dutton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
