Annie Lou Biggerstaff, age 81, of Forest City died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Rutherfordton.
Born January 14, 1937 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late OP Davis and Hattie Mae Dyer Davis. Annie was a hospice volunteer, cosmetologist, manager of Family Dollar store, worked in textiles and served as a pastor's wife for many years. Her life's enjoyments included collecting salt and pepper shakers, sea shells and lighthouses. She also enjoyed painting, coloring, and crafts. Annie was a faithful member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, the Reverend Robert Biggerstaff; one brother, Wade Davis and a sister-in-law, Geretha Davis.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Jim Biggerstaff of Zebulon, NC and Mark Biggerstaff and wife, Elizabeth of Forest City; one sister, Carolyn Craft of Forest City; three grandchildren, Mallory Biggerstaff and Courtney Usher of Rock Hill, SC, and Brandon Biggerstaff of Forest City; two great-grandchildren, Brian and Aubree Usher of Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27th at the Smith Grove Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Terry White and Reverend Tom Willoughby officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
