Annie Murray

September 29, 1925 — July 10, 2014

Annie Pearl Anthony Murray, age 88, formerly of Henrietta, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Willow Ridge Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 29, 1925 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late James Robert Mitchell and Pansy Lee Buckner Mitchell. She worked for Dy Dee Services of Charlotte for many years and was a member of the Forest City Four Square Church. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work and tending to her trees.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Monroe Dixon and John Henry Anthony; five sisters, Ruth Skipper, Dean Jones, Naomi Splawn, Thelma Conner, Bessie Harris and step-son, Buren Murray.
Survivors include her husband, Clifford Murray; two sons, Jerry Dixon of Henrietta and Bill Dixon of Livingston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Mae Murray of Forest City; step-daughter, Evelyn Jacobs and husband, Abe of Charlotte; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
