Barbara Owens

Barbara "Peggy" Lane Owens, age 75, of Mooresboro, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born November 9, 1941 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Jason Angus Lane and Zannie Mae Franklin Lane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald William Owens; son, Randy Douglas Owens; daughters-in-law, Rosemarie Owens, Barbara Ann Owens; siblings, Bonnie Hollifield, Charles Lane, Mary Sue Wallace, Lula Mae Lane, Betty Clark, Dorothy "Dottie" Oliver, Irine Street, and Jason "Bud" Lane Jr.
Survivors include her two sons, Terry Owens and Ronald Keith Owens; sister, Margaret Carlton; and brother, Paul Howard Lane. She is also survived by six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; special friend, Peggy Pruitt and special god-daughter, Norlina Newton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Paul Lane and Reverend Stephen Matheny officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
