Barbara Jean Watts, age 82, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at the White Oak Manor.
Born November 22, 1932 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late William Lee Mitchum and Eva Mae Smith Mitchum. She was a homemaker and a past member of Southern Baptist Church. Jean was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Ray Godfrey and second husband, Gilmer E. Watts; one son, Charles Timothy Godfrey; grandson, Eric Lee Crowley and great-grandson, Alexis McCullough.
Survivors include her daughter, Lujuanna Pagan of Wendell, NC; son, Phillip Wesley Godfrey of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Mary York of Rutherfordton and Daphene Bishop of Belmont, NC. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Sandra Ramseurs, Alicia Anderson, Misty Helms, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
