Bessie Burgess

Bessie Davis Burgess, age 90, of Burgess Road, Ellenboro, NC passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the Hospice House in Forest City. She was born February 5, 1917 in Gaston County to the late Jasper Davis and Bertha Hicks Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Dennis Burgess, a son-in-law, Frank Jenkins, six brothers, and one sister. Bessie was retired from PPG. She loved attending First Baptist Church in Henrietta where she was a long time member. She also loved craftwork, flowers, and fishing.

Bessie is survived by two sons, Dennis Burgess and wife Diane of Henrietta and David Burgess and wife Barbara of Henrietta; one daughter, JoAnn Jenkins of Ellenboro; one brother, Burgin Davis of Glenwood, NC; seven grandchildren, Joey Burgess, Denise Waters, Kim Ledford, Jody Jenkins, Jeff Burgess, Beate Jenkins, and Nicole Bushee; eleven great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and a special niece, Robin Robbins of Glenwood, NC.
