Betty Allen

Betty Jean Long Allen, age 76, of Kannapolis, NC, died Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Carolinas Medical Center Northeast in Concord, NC.
Betty was born August 14, 1935 in Abingdon, NC to the late George Garrett Long and Nell Rose Patrick Long. She was a homemaker and a member of Kannapolis Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and listening to southern gospel music. She also loved to hear the sermons of Billy Graham.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Allen; one grandson, Jonathan Shane Allen Thomason; two brothers, James Long, Charles Harvey Long and one sister, Nancy Elizabeth Stallard.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Ann Thomason of Forest City, Sherry Teresa Clark of Landrum, SC, Linda Carolyn Allen of Granite Falls, NC and Cindy Michelle Allen of Bessemer City, NC; two sons, Randall Burton Allen of Kannapolis and Richard Garrett Allen and fianc', April of Salisbury. She is also survive by three sisters, Patricia Pies and husband, Edward of Shelby, Barbara Thomas and husband, Wiley of Forest City, Judy Edwards of Mooresville, NC; one brother, George Long of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
