Betty Brooks, age 80, of Walker Lake Road, Forest City, NC passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Spartanburg, SC surrounded by her loved ones.
Betty was born July 11, 1938 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Carl Luther Green and Gladys Snyder. She worked in textiles for many years and was a long-time member of Tanners Grove United Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed shopping, gardening and travelling. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Bobby Dean Brooks; sister, Mary Helen Sales and son-in-law, David Timmons.
Those left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Bobbie Timmons of Spartanburg; two brothers, Carl Greene (Natalie) of Kings Mountain and Buddy Green of Forest City; sister, Jo Ann Walker of Forest City; granddaughter, Shawn Timmons Sprouse (Bryan Rogers) of Spartanburg and grandson, Eric Brooks Timmons (Lauren) also of Spartanburg; seven great-grandchildren, Connor Sprouse, Ashlynn, Katie, Blake, Bradley, Karsyn and Brooks.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Mr. Eric Timmons officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Kindred Hospice, 905 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
