Betty Godfrey

Betty Honeycutt Godfrey, age 80, of Firpo Drive, Forest City, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Born December 14, 1937 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Albert Honeycutt and Bertha Gosnell Honeycutt. She worked in textiles for many years before her retirement and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Cliffside. Betty enjoyed fellowshipping with her family and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Pennington and Margaret Ridings and a brother, J.R. Honeycutt.
Those left to cherish her memory include husband of sixty-two years, James R. Godfrey; two daughters, Wanda Sharp of Forest City and Teresa Pruitt and husband, Thomas of Mooresboro; sister, Juanita Price of Greer, SC; best friends, Joann and Willard Leech of Mooresboro and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Tim Frashier officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
