Betty Vanderveen

Betty Lee Ringler Vanderveen, age 90, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Betty was born July 7, 1922 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Lee D. Waterman and Mary Elizabeth Braden Waterman. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Bible Church. She was a member of the AT & T Pioneers Club of Florida and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and all other kinds of needlework.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, John Ringler and Clarence Vanderveen; two sisters, Dorothy Cronkright and Thelma Vanderveen and one brother, Vernon Waterman.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lee VanderWal and husband, Harry of Rutherfordton; seven grandchildren, Cherie Walker, Mary Elizabeth Bray, Harry VanderWal, Jr., Jerry Jason VanderWal, Gary John VanderWal, Teri Heather VanderWal and Keri Amanda VanderWal; twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Grace Bible Church, 829 US 64 74a Hwy, Rutherfordton, NC.
