Bill Hembree, age 77, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence.
Bill was born November 23, 1935 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Edgar Austin Hembree, Sr. and Maudie Lucille Price Hembree. He was a veteran, have served in the US Marine Corps. He owned and operated the Hair Palace in Henrietta and was a barber for over 58 years. He attended Piney Mountain Baptist Church and enjoyed all facets of yard work and especially enjoyed working with flowers. He also served as a past member of the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Lamar Hembree.
Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Esther Stonica and husband, Scott of Griffin, GA, Deborah Lucretia Medina of Louisville, KY and Chrys Myra Mouser and husband, Andrew of Peachtree City, GA; three brothers, Lee Davis Hembree of Atlanta, Wilson Henry Hembree of Tucson, AZ and Ronnie Doyle Hembree of Jackson, GA. He is also survived by his significant other and beloved friend, Kim Parker of Ellenboro; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wilson Hembree and Reverend Terry Padgett officiating. Entombment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
