Bill Thompson

Bill Thompson, age 81, of Rutherfordton, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Nana's Assisted Living Center.
Born November 22, 1934 in Spartanburg County, SC, he was a son to the late Grover Thompson and Annie Pressley Thompson. He was a graduate of Mill Spring High School, class of 1952 and was a truck driver. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Thompson; one brother, Jimmy Thompson and niece, Anna Maria McAbee.
Survivors include his sister, Ruby Johnson of Inman, SC; sister-in-law, Gladys Melton and two nephews, Barry Thompson and Tony Thompson both of Rutherfordton.
At the request of the family, no formal services will be conducted.
