Billie Waters Newton, age 86, of Forest City, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her residence.

Billie was born May 14, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Tess Waters and Eva Harrison Waters. She was a graduate of Sunshine High School and was a member of Tanners Grove United Methodist Church. Billie worked for Stonecutter Mill for forty years before retirement. She was dedicated to her family and was known by all as a hard worker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Newton; two brothers, Lewis Waters and Chivous Waters; two sisters, Ruth Pope and Ruby Melton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son, Gary L. Newton and a host of nieces and nephews.

A gathering to honor Billie’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the family residence, 272 Newton Road, Forest City with Reverend Dr. Garin Hill officiating.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
