Billy Layton, age 43, of Bostic, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born May 31, 1974 in Rutherford County, he is the son of Jimmy and Janice Layton of Bostic. Billy enjoyed flying drones and electric planes, the outdoors, fishing, and listening to music. He was a past member Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Golden Valley
In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife, Daphne Layton of Rutherfordton; daughter, Victoria Herzog and husband, Devin of Indianapolis, Indiana; four sons, Victor Layton of Rutherfordton, Jimmy Layton, Ryan Layton and Aaron Lindsey all of Bostic; two step-sons, David Lane II of Forest City and Ray Lane and wife, Ashley of Rutherfordton; step-daughter, Judy Lane of Robbinsville, NC; the mother of three of his sons; Freida Bunnell of Bostic; two brothers, Ronnie Layton and wife, Lynn and Johnny Layton and wife, Paige all of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Carolina Herzog, Alva Ray Hunt, Dale Lane, Nellie Phillips, Carson Phillips and Claudia Lane.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe and Reverend Billy Bostic officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
