Billy Terry, age 58, of Old Hollis Road, Ellenboro, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born July 30, 1956 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late William Terry and Sue Shires Terry. Billy owned and operated the Southside Motor Company for thirty-one years. He was a member of the Hollis Masonic Lodge #535 and the Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church of Bostic. Billy was an avid golfer and enjoyed building street rods. He was also a member of the Vintage Tin Street Rod Association. His favorite pastime was spending time in Pigeon Forge with his wife of thirty seven years, LaSondra. He also enjoyed movies and was a culinary expert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his grandmother, Beatrice Shires; brother, Frank Wood and sister, Susan Kennedy.
Survivors include the love of his life, LaSondra Keeter Terry; two daughters, Angel Terry Arnett and husband, Jeremy and Heather Terry Thomas and husband, Josh all of Ellenboro; one son, Billy Terry, Jr. and wife, Ashley also of Ellenboro; one sister, Melinda Gossett of Mooresboro and one brother, Chris Sutherland of Kentucky. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jordan, Noah, Nathan, Kaylee, Riley, Colton and Tregan.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Colby Davis officiating. Interment, accompanied by Masonic Rites, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
