Blaine H. Hardin, age 81, of Phoenix, AZ and formerly of Rutherford County, NC, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Phoenix.
Blaine was born on June 24, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Grover C. Hardin and Lillian Virginia Harris Hardin. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1948 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Eastern Airlines and Hormel Meat Packaging, but his life's work and love was music. He was the featured pianist at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix for many years. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Wanda Hardin, Melba V. McLean and Martha McDaniel.
Survivors include two brothers, Grover 'Buck' Hardin of Oxon Hill, Maryland and Karl Hardin of Spindale, NC. He is also survived by a good friend and caretaker, Martha Spears of Phoenix.
