Bob Greene

Bob Greene, age 76, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his residence.  Bob was born Sunday, September 2, 1945 in Burnsville, NC to the late Lewis Green and Hettie Gurley Greene. He was the owner and operator of Greene’s Upholstery for over thirty years and a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed taking trips with his family to the beach, fishing and pitching horseshoes. He was a vintage car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Linda Houser Greene; siblings, Charles Greene, Ray Greene, Jack Greene, John Greene, Mildred Boone, Faye Hughes and May Willis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Carole Brooks of Ellenboro; son, Matt Greene (Deana) of Marion; grandchildren, Bobbi Hodge (Ryan), Jaira Harrill (David), Robert Greene, Taylor Smith (Levi), Dillon Greene, Mollie Greene; great-grandchildren, Lux, Lillie, Ayla, Brayson, Moxie and Lexley.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Big Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Scott and Reverend Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
