Bobby Davis

Bobby Davis, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his residence.

Bobby was born Monday, August 31, 1936 in Cleveland County to the late Everette Davis and Elizabeth Phillips Davis. He was a veteran of the Korean War while serving honorably in the US Air Force. Bobby worked as diesel mechanic for most his working years, having worked for Tar Heel Ford in Charlotte and most recently for Thompson Contractors in Rutherfordton. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was presently attending Chase Baptist Church. Bobby enjoyed gardening and was known for his awesome sense of humor. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Davis, Jr.; a grandson, Justin Ervin and two sisters, Betty Conrad and Doris Benfield.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Rachel Henson Davis; children, Dawn Davis of Charlotte, Debra Baxter of Forest City, Betty Yocum (Tony) of Maiden, NC, Randy Ramsey (Sonia) of Salem, SC, Rhonda Miskowski (Rob) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dawn Deck (John) of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1st at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
