Bobby Hewitt

Bobby G. Hewitt, age 73 of 101 Landis Street, Forest City, NC passed away Wednesday
September 26, 2007 at his home. He was born February 12, 1934 in Rutherford County, to Jessie Lowery Hewitt of Forest City and the late Horace H. Hewitt. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Morris Hewitt. He was a long time member of Alexander United Methodist Church where he served as Sound Director and Trustee. Mr. Hewitt was a truck driver for over 40 years and retired from W & B Trucking. He was a twenty-five year member of Masonic Lodge # 381 of Forest City and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Hewitt loved his family dearly and was an avid golfer and hunter.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Landis Hewitt of the home; two daughters Gwen Carothers and husband Randy of Shelby, and Greta Philbeck and husband David of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Steve Hewitt of Forest City and Buddie Hewitt of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Rebecca Doggett of Ellenboro, NC; one grandchild, Amanda Flynn of Shelby, two great grandchildren, Aaron Flynn and Jordan Flynn, both of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Waters and husband Rupert and Shirley Landis all of Forest City and Mark Bridges.
