Bonnie Marshall Tessnear, age 88, of Forest City, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Oakland Living Center.
Born February 7, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late George Edwin Marshall and Lucy Horton Marshall. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1943 and was a homemaker. She also worked for Stonecutter Mill for several years. Bonnie enjoyed quilting, reading and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Timer Tessnear; four brothers, D.P. Marshall, Rex Marshall, Tom Marshall, Albert Marshall and two sisters, Selma Holland and Evelyn Lowery.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Ray of Rutherfordton; two sons, Dr. Marshall Tessnear and wife, Pam of Blacksburg, Virginia and Dr. Eddie Tessnear and wife, Tricia of Wilson, NC. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Erin Tessnear and Sarah Ray.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Reverend Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. in the church narthex on Friday.
