Brad Balderstone, age 65, of Ellenboro, NC, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born December 23, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, he was a son of the late Eric Balderstone and Connie Reynolds Balderstone. Brad was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Brad worked as a commercial truck driver for over thirty years and also for MAACO Marine for several years. He enjoyed boating, football and trips to the Ocean.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Balderstone.
Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Dolores "Lori" Balderstone; daughter, Elizabeth Myers of Flint, MI; two sons, Andrew Vought of Ellenboro and Chief Warrant Officer Jeffrey Vought and wife, Rieko of Japan; sister, Bobbi Allen and husband, Tom of Forest City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Padgett, Haley Lail, Christina Vought and Sena Vought.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
