Bratcher Martin Wall, Jr., age 74, of Union Mills, NC, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Bratcher was born on April 14, 1937 in Halifax County, VA to the late Bratcher Martin Wall and Annie Bet Lewis Wall. He served in the Army Reserves for several years and was a dedicated member of the Gideons International. He was also a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church for 41 years. He was a contractor and owned and operated N & W Construction for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors which included going to the beach, fishing and hunting. Every holiday season he would construct his Christmas Village which brought delight to so many. He was a man who loved people and never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle Lawson, Catherine Pyant, Irene Clark, Boneze Walton and one brother, Michael Wall.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Wall of the home; one son, Martin Wall and wife, Cathy of Ellenboro; three daughters, Pamela Wall of Rutherfordton, Patricia Wall Karnes and companion, Jack LaFountaine of Shelby, Shelley Wall Vallecillo and husband, Scott of Rutherfordton; one brother, Wayne Wall and wife, Mary Ann of Forest City; one sister, Ruth Sparks and husband, Billy of Dry Fork, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Brandy Karnes, Jason Stanley and wife, Joanie, Amy Stanley, Allison Wall, Loren Shehan, Hanna Wall, Joseph Vallecillo, Bratey Wall, Caleb Vallecillo, Jackson Vallecillo and two great grandchildren, Kayleigh Stanley and Aiden Mode.
