Brell Harrison Flynn, age 92, of Forest City, died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born August 16, 1923 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Lawson Ervin Flynn and Bessie McEntire Flynn. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army Air Corps as a pilot of B-17 and B-25 bombers. Brell worked for Hoechst Celanese Corporation for twenty-one years before retirement. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed gardening, hunting and recreational skeet shooting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty years, Lois Wilson Flynn; two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ann Flynn of Forest City and Denice June Flynn Padgett and husband, Keith of Mooresboro; two grandsons, Jason Padgett of Mooresboro, Daniel Padgett of Matthews, NC and great-grandson, Braxton Padgett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Stephen Matheny officiating. Interment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home at other times they will be gathered at 113 Sandy Oak Drive, Forest City.
