On Friday, June 24, 2022, Brenda Elizabeth Graham White, of Forest City, a loving wife, mother, and sister, passed away at home at the age of 65 after a long battle with ALS. Brenda was born on February 4th, 1957 in Henrietta, NC to Laura Lancaster who resides in Henrietta and the late Ernest Graham. Brenda was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1975. She served in the National Guard for three years, then began her thirty plus year long career as a Machinist at Torrington/Timken. She served God and her community by teaching and mentoring multiple generations of 4- and 5-year-olds and was actively involved in her church.
Brenda was a strong, creative, woman who knew how to fix anything. She was a talented artist, gardener, and collector. Her vast record collection was a testament to her love of music. She was known for her fun-loving, gentle nature and immense kindness and generosity. She went out of her way to help anyone who needed it, whether it be rebuilding someone’s home or running a face painting booth for her local church fair. She volunteered her knowledge, time, and energy to many organizations during her life, including Red Cross disaster relief, Hospice, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, and Sandy Mush Baptist Church. She blessed the lives of so many in such simple and important ways.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of forty years, Charles Richard White; daughter, Jessica White Cargile (Preston) of Durham; her grandson, Logan Cargile; sister, Janette Jones of Forest City; her nephews Jeremy and Jeffrey and many life-long friends.
A memorial graveside service will be held on later date.
