Caleb "Mcginnis" Lancaster

Caleb “McGinnis” Lancaster, age 25, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at his residence.  Caleb was born Wednesday, October 11, 1995 in Rutherford County to Angel Watts McGinnis and Spencer Lancaster.  He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 2014 and a member of Grace Chapel in Forest City. He was a gifted athlete and excelled in both baseball and basketball. Caleb had a heart for the “underdogs” in the world. He had a caring spirit and enjoyed working with children who were disabled. Caleb especially loved his family and invested his life in his two sons. He was also an avid Tarheels fan.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Dan McGinnis.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Angel Watts McGinnis (Clint) of Forest City and father, Spencer Lancaster of Morganton; fiancé, Madison Terry of Ellenboro; sons, Cooper Haze Lancaster and Candyn Reed Lancaster of the home; two brothers, Jackson McGinnis of Fayetteville, NC and Zeke McGinnis of Forest City; grandparents, Tim and Crystal Watts and Ricky Lancaster all of Forest City and Sharon McGinnis of Ellenboro. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles, which includes a special uncle, Yogi Watts.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Sunday at Grace Chapel in Forest City with Reverend Ricky Poteat and Uncle Yogi Watts officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
