Cathy Dalton

Cathy Dalton, age 67, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Cathy was born Monday, October 10, 1955 in Rutherford County to the late Horace Lee Cordell and Ruby Ellen Arrowood Cordell. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1973. Cathy worked as a volunteer for Hospice for over seven years. She worked as a dietary technician for the Rutherford County Public Schools and a childcare worker at Judy’s Day Care. Cathy was a member of Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church.  She had a caring heart for others and displayed her loving heart by providing care for special needs children and for senior citizens. She also enjoyed doing craftwork.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Justin Cash.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty years, Clyde Dalton; son, Matthew Brian Dalton (Amy) of Forest City; brother, Donald Ray Cordell of Rutherfordton and sister, Anna Hicks (Mike) of Greenville, SC; grandson, Tyler Matthew Dalton; a niece, Caroline Cordell and nephews, Cody Cordell and Colton Cordell.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 9th at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Chad Sisk and Reverend Buddy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Spindale Fellowship Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
