Charlene “Carolyn” Walker Hardin, age 80, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Carolyn was born Sunday, December 29, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Ed Walker and Mamie Selvey Walker. She worked in textiles for several years and as a machinist for A & E Plastic Manufacturing for many years. Carolyn was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she had served as the church secretary and was a member of the church choir. She enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing for her family and especially cooking for them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Stephen Hardin; son, David Dimsdale; two brothers, Norris and Billy Walker and two sisters, Shirley and Judy Walker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Donnie Dimsdale (Nancy) of Reidsville, NC; two daughters, Marilyn Dimsdale and Belinda Hudlow (Hayden) all of Forest City; sisters, Betty Jo Freeman and Trudy Lancaster both of Forest City and a brother, Roger Walker of Forest City. She is also survived by five grandchildren, David Dimsdale, Elizabeth Davis (Jason), Justin Ruppe, Samantha Ruppe and Sabrina Ruppe.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Mitchell officiating.
