Charles Lloyd Rhodes, Sr., age 76, of Doc Wiseman Road, Henrietta, died Monday, January 25, 2016 at Fair Haven of Forest City.
Born October 26, 1939 in Buncombe County, he was a son to the late Lloyd Lee Rhodes and Louise Wilson Rhodes Dougherty. Charles spent thirty-seven years working in textiles. He worked for Stonecutter Mill and Burlington Industries until retirement. Charles also worked as an assistant manager at McDonalds for several years. He was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking and carrying on conversations with others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Rhodes and a grandson, Logan Stainback Rhodes.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-eight years, Frances Ramsey Rhodes; daughter, Annette Hope and husband, Joey of Shelby; three sons, Charlie Rhodes and wife, Gloria of Danville, VA, Jimmy Rhodes and wife, Pam of Henrietta and Joe Rhodes also of Henrietta; sister, Charlotte Dotson of Swannanoa, NC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
