Charles “Doc” Wyatt, age 91, passed away peacefully to his forever home, Thursday, November 11,2021 in Millville, Utah surrounded by his loving family. Doc was born Wednesday, December 4, 1929 in Caroleen, NC to the late Archie Wyatt and Lucy Hammett Wyatt. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1947. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Doc was a Honorary Retiree 2 Class Photographer. He retired at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station in 1969. He also worked as a supply clerk for Rutherford Hospital for many years and for Fieldcrest Mills. He was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church.
Papa was known for the love he had for all children and his family. He enjoyed fishing, talking about his Naval career, the love of taking pictures and spending time with his church family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years, Barbara L. Wyatt; his only daughter, Barbara Ann Vickers; grandson, Matthew Wyatt; three brothers, William Wyatt, Ray “Squeaky” Wyatt and Earl Wyatt.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Michael Wyatt (Francine) of Millville, Utah, and Mark Wyatt of Ellenboro; a son-in-law, Rodger Vickers; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 2, 2021 at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Military honors will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
