Charles Erwin Bright, Jr.

Charles Erwin Bright, Jr., age 88, of Forest City, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Oak Grove Health Care Center.

Charles was born September 25, 1931 in Rutherford County to the late Charles Erwin Bright, Sr. and Donia Guffey Bright. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and was of the Baptist faith. Charles worked in construction most of his life and was an avid golfer. He was a “people person” who never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Jones and second wife, Katherine Giles; daughter, Rhonda Oberstaller; granddaughter, Brandi Oberstaller; three brothers, Leroy, Walter and Venoy Bright and three sisters, Mavis Bridges, Ruth Haulk and Joan Hodge.

Those left to cherish his memory include four sons, Barry Bright (Pam) of Forest City, Danny Bright of Forest City, Scott Bright (Tammy) of Huntersville, NC and Henry Bright of Hanahan, SC; grandchildren, Stephen Bright, Sevin Bright, Sharra Hackett, Eli Bright, Micalah Bright, Hannah Bright and Jeanna Oberstaller; great-grandchildren, Hayden McBrayer, Maggie McBrayer, Tucker Hackett, Cora Bright, Sabie Bright, Samuel Bright and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for the family will be conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Stephen Bright officiating.
