Charlie O'Dell

Charlie Thomas O'Dell, age 89, of Forest City, NC and formerly of Eden, NC, died November 1, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born June 25, 1926 in Eden, he was a son of the late Jesse James O'Dell and Lula Mae Williams O'Dell. He worked for Stonecutter Mill for many years and was a Baptist. Charlie enjoyed listening to and playing bluegrass music on his mandolin. He also enjoyed visiting with his friends and family and watching westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James "Jimbo" O'Dell; two brothers, Roy O'Dell and Ernest O'Dell; sister, Lucy Stone; granddaughter, Jessica Mae O'Dell and great-granddaughter, Madison Storm O'Dell.
Survivors include four sons, Kenneth O'Dell, Donald O'Dell and wife, Lorene, Tommy O'Dell and wife, Helen, Joe G. O'Dell and wife, Judy all of Forest City; two daughters, Brenda Lane and husband, Ronnie of Henrietta and Tracy Hudgins and husband, Garry of Rutherfordton; one sister, Frances Alcorn of Eden and brother, Joe O'Dell also of Eden. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 o'clock in the evening on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 with Reverend Owen Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour to service time at the funeral home.
