Charlotte Owens

Charlotte Hensley Laws Owens, age 89, of Caroleen, died Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Charlotte was born August 4, 1929 in Rutherford County to the late Joe Hensley and Reba Noblitt Hensley. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1947. Charlotte worked for Burlington Industries for forty years before retirement. She was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church and an avid North Carolina Tar Heel fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Laws and second husband, Grover Owens; three brothers, Ralph, Jim and George Hensley.
Those left to cherish her memory include son, Joe Laws and wife, Keeley of Caroleen; her sister and best friend, Ruby Childers and husband, Jimmy of Sandy Mush; step-son, Frank Owens and wife, Bridgett of Forest City; sister-in-law, Betty Hensley of Caroleen; two step-grandchildren, Vicky Haynes and Cherry Mask. She is also survived by a number of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Norma Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
