Chris Mcclellan

Chris Lee McClellan, age 42, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 in Kansas City, Kansas due to a traffic accident.

Chris was born Friday, August 10, 1979 in Rutherford County to Shirley “Sue” Stacey McClellan who resides in Rutherfordton and the late Wallace “Mac” McClellan. He worked as a Pipefitter in Spartanburg for several years and most recently as a delivery courier for Empire National Logistics in Fletcher.  He was a past member of New Freedom Baptist Church in Columbus and enjoyed restoring motorcycles and collecting model race cars.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tyler McClellan (Grace) of Spindale, Austin McClellan of Rutherfordton, Amber Harris of Rutherfordton and Michael McClellan of Columbus; two brothers, Joel F. McClellan of Blacksburg, SC, Matthew McClellan of Columbus and a sister, Stacey C. McClellan of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by his special puppy, “Little Bit”.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the New Freedom Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
