Christine Mace Epley, age 72, of Forest City, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at her residence.
Christine was born Sunday, November 13, 1949 in Rutherford County to the late Zebulon Vance Mace and Lorene Earwood Mace. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1967 and attended Isothermal Community College. She worked eighteen years as an administrative assistant for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department having worked for Sheriffs Damon Huskey, Ed Searcy and Dan Good. She was a member of Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family. She loved her family and friends whole heartedly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Max and Jeffrey Mace and two sisters, Emma Robbins and Yvonne Melton.
Left to cherish fond memories are her husband of fifty-four years, R.H. “Firpo” Epley; daughters, Teresa Epley Baynard, Jennifer Jo Epley and Allison Mace Epley all of Forest City; brothers, Vance Mace (Nikki) and Philip Mace (Sue) all of Ellenboro and a sister, Helen Ingle of Forest City. She is also survived by her special good friends, Sybil Fisher of Ellenboro and Chris Hardin of Forest City; her nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all whom she adored.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew, Mark Ingle, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
