Clyde P. Eddins, age 72, of 143 My Family Way, Forest City, NC died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at his residence.
He was as son of the late William and Gladys Beland Eddins and a native of Nash County, NC. He had lived in Rutherford County for many years. Clyde worked as a meat cutter for over 35 years before his retirement. He enjoyed working on his cars and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Clyde served our country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Eddins and one brother, Roy Eddins.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Ivey Eddins; two sons, Steven Eddins of Suffolk, VA and Joey Eddins of Mooresboro; two daughters, Shelly Swindell and her husband Eddie and Angela Duval and her husband Bill all of Portsmouth, VA; one step-son, James Broglin and his wife Margot of Suffolk, VA; one brother, Skip Eddins of Florida; three sisters, Ruth Britton of Ahoskie, NC, Betty Wall of Portsmouth, VA and Sylvia Davis of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
