Mrs. Concetta “Connie” Grimaldi Biddy passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 83 at her son Olin’s home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 17, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Giuseppa Grimaldi. Connie Biddy was a homemaker and mother of five (5).
Connie was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She met her husband Olin in New York City on a blind date and married him in November of 1956. Together they had five (5) children who were all born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Copiague, Long Island, NY. When she retired with her husband in 1988, she moved to the mountains of North Carolina where she enjoyed many years of good health. In 2018 she moved to Eastern North Carolina to be with three of her children.
Mrs. Biddy is survived by her three sons, Charles Biddy (Dianne) of Islip, NY, Olin Biddy (Linda) of Stella, NC, and Martin Biddy (Dawn) of Shelby, NC; two daughters, Lois Biddy Rice (Charles) of Ocean, NC and Lynn Biddy Ray (Tom) of Newport, NC; twelve grandchildren, Ryan Biddy, Diana Rice Reuter, Olin K. Biddy, Christina Rice, Ashley Biddy, Jessica Rice Shirley, Elizabeth Biddy, Joey Biddy, David Biddy, Angela Ray, Matthew Biddy, and Tommy Ray; and seven great grandchildren, Nicole, Annika, Aurora, Fischer, DJ, Edison, Brantley. She was preceded in death by her husband Olin Biddy from Rutherford County, NC and her granddaughter, Rebecca Ray.
Connie will be extremely missed. She was a caring and loving woman with a warm heart and incredible smile. Connie will never be forgotten.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2020 at High Shoal Baptist Church with Reverend Eugene Passmore and Reverend Shane Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial follow the service at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
