Daisy Yelton

Daisy Lee Walker Yelton, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Born December 9, 1936 in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Walker and Colleen Terry. Daisy worked as a CNA for years before retirement. She was an avid quilter and love to read and crochet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Pinkney Reid Yelton; three sisters, Bertha McMahan, Winnie Blankenship, and Marcia Miller; three brothers, Johnie Harrison, Bill Coffey and Roy Henry Terry and two grandchildren, Carol Renee Yelton and Tammy Tessnair Lee.
Survivors include her nine children, Wayne Yelton and wife, Denise, Carol Tessnair and husband, Thurmond, Ronald Yelton, Marie Henderson and husband, Harold, Denice Foote and husband, Russell, Pinkie Tessnair, Bill Yelton and wife, April and Charles Yelton all of Rutherfordton and Annie Head of Forest City; one sister Madge Hooks and husband, Steve of Connelly Springs; twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Westminster Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
