He was born December 16, 1930 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Reverend Lee and Dora Rhodes Brown.

He lived a life defined in the biblical meaning of his name Daniel. "God is my judge; he's a friend for all seasons.

• He encourages others to do their best
• Lives for his family's happiness
• Believes in lending a helping hand
• Is admired for his outgoing personality
• A man of courage, even under hardship

He was a good son........................... spending many evenings and weekends helping his mom and dad on their farm. He was always there for them.

He was a good neighbor and friend............ always ready to lend a helping hand when needed and enjoyed sharing his bountiful harvest from his garden.

He was a good father................. setting a positive example of a good and meaningful life....... through his positive attitude...............never complaining..............his strong work ethic....................... always being there for his family............. being a good provider. He never desired a lot of material things and was always appreciative of what he had....... favoring the enjoyment of good friends, family and a good laugh.

He was a good grandfather, loving and enjoying his grandchildren Katherine and Pierce. Fishing, pushing them in the swing, riding in the golf cart.......... any activity was a good activity when it included his grandchildren.

He was a good husband............... for 61 years being a best friend, a loving and caring husband..........through good times and hard times he was there for his wife.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Jose Lee and Zora Virginia and brother James Donald Brown. He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Daisy Waters Brown of Caroleen; son Daniel K. Brown and wife Donna, grandchildren Katherine and Pierce of Cornelius, NC; sisters Shirley Collins Self of Forest City, Marie Bridges Green of Ellenboro and Jean Hamilton of Columbia, SC, and many nephews and nieces.

He was a farmer, worked in textiles and retired after over 30 years from PPG Industries.

He served in the United States Army (1948-1952) with the Occupational Forces post World War II in Germany, leaving service at the rank of Corporal.

He loved gardening and always had one of the finest vegetable gardens in the neighborhood, sharing his bountiful harvest. He coached the Bears little league baseball team for more than 12 years, winning several titles. He enjoyed rabbit hunting, gathering honey from his bee hives, fishing and most of all...............being out-of-doors. He loved his dogs Bubba and Lady.

Daniel liked to hear and tell a good joke. He was a bit of a cut-up and always enjoyed a good laugh. He would want us to be happy for him and celebrate his life with a smile on our faces.
