David Henson, age 76, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  David was born Monday, June 4, 1945 in Polk County, Tennessee to the late Luther Henson and Emma Justice Henson. He worked as an auto mechanic most of his life. David was employed by the local Ford Dealership and owned David’s Garage in Forest City. He also co-owned and operated the “Appetites for Two” Restaurant with his late wife, Jean. David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and he was lovingly known as, “Paw Paw” to each of them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Jean Ann Henson; sisters, Lucille Connor, Liz Mintz and a brother, Edward Henson.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughters, Patti Bradley of Ellenboro and Carol Bradley (Anthony) of Bostic; son, Jamie Henson (Noel) of Ellenboro; five sisters, Barbara McFalls (Steve) of Hazelwood, NC, Brenda Chavez (Tony) of Hendersonville, Dot Mercer of Hazelwood, Joann Maddox and Stella Corbin both of Alabama; four brothers, Billy Henson (Sandy) of Waynesville, NC, R.L. Henson of Waynesville, Jerry Henson of Cruso, NC and Junior Henson (Lynda) of Alabama. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Alexander City Cemetery with Reverend Danny Ledford and Reverend Steve Rhinehart officiating.
