David Kanipe, age 46, of Ellenboro, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his residence.
Born July 24, 1971 in Rutherford County, he is the son of the Reverend Kenneth Kanipe and Becky Kanipe of Forest City. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1989 and of Ambassador Baptist College. He worked for American Miso Company for several years and was a member of Race Path Baptist Church. He had served as the youth pastor at Bethany Baptist Church and also for Walls Baptist Church. David was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord and loved his family dearly. He was known for his keen sense of humor and enjoyed taking care of his dogs.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Tabitha Kanipe; one daughter, Allison Kanipe of the home; step-son, Floyd Barker of Gastonia; sister, Renee Kimball and husband, Leo of Forest City; three nieces, Amber Emory (Brandon), Brittney Watts (Bobby), Cadence Kimball; two great-nieces, Braedyn Emory and Ariyah Watts and one great-nephew, Carter Emory.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Bostic Missionary Methodist Church with Reverend Lamar Hewitt and Reverend Brian Melton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
