Deborah Simpson

Deborah C. Simpson, age 59, of Forest City, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Brevard, NC.
Born June 21, 1957 in Rutherford County, she is a daughter to Mary Sue Conner who resides in Forest City and the late Martin John Conner. Deborah worked as a receptionist for the Emergency Room at Rutherford Hospital and also as a machinist at Watts-Regtrol. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Deborah enjoyed yard work and working on her computer. She especially loved spending time with her friends and daughter.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Maurice Simpson; sister, Dorothy Elliott and numerous aunts and uncles.
Besides her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Nikki Simpson of Brevard; sister, Dale Gosnell and husband, Ronald of Kings Mountain; three brothers, Danny Conner and special friend, Jim Stamey of Abbeville, SC, Donnie Conner and wife, Diane of Forest City and Doug Conner and wife, Betty of Bostic; four aunts, Winnie Hensley, Oneda Camp, Maggie Bell Hubbard, Blanche Greene and uncle, J.D. McFarland. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Peyton Kiyini Lee and Nathaniel Kyle Blanton.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck and Reverend Owen Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Drury Dobbins Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
