Delcie D. Head, age 99, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Tampa, Florida, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at the KB Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.
Born January 4, 1915 in Alabama, she was a daughter of the late William H. Daily and Sarah Boone Daily. Delcie was a faithful member of Ballast Point Baptist Church and loved reading her Bible, knitting, working crossword puzzles and serving in her church. She was known for her famous Coconut Cream Pies at all the church events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Ernest Head; her step-mother, Robbie Daily; three brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Mill Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Reverend Frederick Arthur Hanks officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Ballast Point Baptist Church, 5101 Bayshore Blvd., Tampa, FL 33611
