Dolly Wishon

Dolly Wishon, age 80, of Spindale, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020.

Dolly was born April 12, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Keith Crain and Rody Byers Crain. She worked for Mastercraft for many years. Later, she worked in home healthcare for several years. Dolly was member of the Community Worship Center and enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, cleaning and was a devoted Elvis fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Wishon; stepmother, Rose Crain; daughter, Donna Jones; three sisters, Josephine Smith, Tiney Starnes, Jerry Overtine and two brothers, Jack Crain and Lynburd Byers.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Gail Crawford (Steve) of Forest City and Cindy Mode of Spindale; a son, Sammy Wishon (Donna Owens) of Forest City; brother, Sammy Newton of Forest City; five grandchildren, Leslie McNamara (Patrick), Danielle Guffey (Anthony), Brandy McCombs, Hayley Johnson, Hayden Johnson and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherfordton City Cemetery with Pastors Robert Jeffords and Loretta McComas in charge of the committal service. The family will receive friends on hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 144 Amos Road, Forest City.
