Don McEntyre

Don McEntyre, age 87, of Rutherfordton, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at his residence.

Don was born Tuesday, June 9, 1936 in Polk County, NC to the late Fay McEntyre and May Bell Crowe Williams.  He was a graduate of Oxnard Union High School, class of 1956. He was the owner and operator of Blue Max Hobbies in Oxnard, California and the ABC Hobby Shop in Forest City for many years. Don was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed flower gardening. Don was a craftsman and a model airplane enthusiast. He loved building and flying model airplanes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-five years, Brenda Suttle McEntyre; daughter, Kimberly McEntyre and his stepfather, Ted Williams.

 Those left to treasure his memory include his sons, Donnie Kay McEntyre (Caroline) of Riverside, California and Bobby McEntyre of Rutherfordton; daughter, Lorrie Gleghorn of Vancouver, Washington; brother, Ronnie McEntyre; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

 In accordance with Don’s wishes, there will be no formal services. He will be buried by his late wife, Brenda, at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
