Doris Hawley

     Doris Hawley, age 68, of Forest City, passed away, Friday, August 25, 2023 at her residence.

     Doris was born Sunday, January 2, 1955 in Rutherford County to the late Jesse Lee and Fannie Bell Harrill Burgess.  Doris worked at Proctor Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant and drove a bus for Tri-Community School for many years. She was best known as a loving and caring Momma and Nana.  She loved her grandchildren, her cats and being able to drive anywhere as long as she was the driver.  Doris will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-six years, James Hawley; and sister, Naomi Maltba.

     Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Michelle White, two grandchildren, Rayanna Bailey, Charles White; great grandchildren, Bransyn Bailey, Anna White, Izzy White; sister, Mary Ann Hodge; and her best friend, Kay McClain.

     No formal services are being planned at this time.
