*The funeral service for Doris Terry Turner has been rescheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at the Glenwood Baptist Church.
Doris Terry Turner, age 71, of Jefferson Road, Mooresboro, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born September 13, 1944 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Coy Terry and Corine Devon Schuster who resides in Hickory, NC. Doris worked for Snyder Mills in Alexander for many years and as a CNA for Carolina Community Care for several years. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and enjoyed reading Grace Livingston Hill books and flower gardening.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Terry and sister, Irene Terry Deaton.
Besides her mother, survivors include her husband of fifty-four years, John William Turner; son, David Turner and wife, Sandy of Mooresboro; daughter, Frances "Cissy" Clary also of Mooresboro; two sisters, Mary Ellen Willis of Hickory and Faye Street of Ellenboro; brother, Cecil Terry and wife, Carol of Shelby. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jacob Clary, Victoria Turner, Joshua Clary, Valerie Turner and Wade Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Glenwood Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck, Reverend Owen Duncan and Reverend Robert Lane officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
